What is Coaching?
Coaching is a tool to help you define and accomplish your goals in any area of your life you choose to focus on. It is about developing your self-awareness and taking responsibility for the positive actions and decisions you make. It involves having a structured conversation with your coach in which you are listened to, asked relevant questions, and, where needed, challenged on ways of thinking that are holding you back. Importantly, coaching is affirming, positive and fun!
What Coaching is not
Coaching focuses on the present and the future, and therefore it does not involve any counselling (which focuses on the past). Coaching is also not mentoring (which can involve a person giving suggestions and advice around an area of expertise). Instead, coaching helps you to develop your own possibilities and solutions.
How do I know if Coaching is right for me?
Is there a gap between where you are now and where you want to be?
Are you facing a time of change?
You know what you don’t want but are not sure what you do want?
Do you feel stuck and put off making decisions or fail to stick to those decisions you have made?
Do you sometimes feel you don’t have the skills, resources or confidence to get something completed?
Are you ready to entertain new ways of thinking and fresh ideas?
Are you willing to be accountable for what you want?
If you answer yes to any of these questions then coaching can offer a way forward for you.
